Day 4 and 5: Halloween

I mentioned a few days ago that Australians think we know America because of popular culture. It’s more like Plato’s metaphor of shadows on the wall of a cave, and nothing I’ve seen yet illustrates that as well as Halloween.

Okay, Australia has parties, and a few clubs will have a costume night? The US has a weekend of everything going overboard, every storefront decorated, many suburban front yards done up, an entire country redone in orange and black.

The US has a situation where two guys dressed as bulls can chase five guys dressed in white with red scarves down the street, and is thus FAR COOLER.
