Day 2: Food Envy

Australians? We’ve gotten pretty good at food. Successive waves of immigrants and an adventurous national culinary culture have gotten us some of the world’s best food, even at cheap levels.

Why the hell can’t we manage a bloody bagel, then?

Now, I’ve been trying to remove excessive processed grains from my diet – anyone who’s heard about “paleo” or “primal blueprint” will have an idea of where I’m coming from here.

Right now, I don’t really give a stuff.

Because a proper bagel (which I have only found in Germany, Canada and of course the US) with some cream cheese on top (and maybe some sundried tomatoes, or sweet chili sauce) is the best goddamn breakfast possible.
